Lady Liberty

Lady Liberty lives in Connecticut with her wonderful family.  We feel blessed to know them and cherish our relationship with our new friends.  Her owners write:

"Liberty is our everything! From the day I met her she has been the most loving, affectionate, and gentle dog I have come to know. All dogs from Lagniappe Goldens are treated as family members from the beginning. They are given names, not just numbers or collar colors, and they are treated with nothing but love, affection and kindness while being integrated into the household. Even when they go to new homes and are given new names, Nancy and her family still remember them and reach out from time to time for updates. When I came to pick up Liberty, the Burke family greeted me at their doorstep, behind them was a front door adorned in ribbons and sweet wishes to Liberty and I as we were about to start a new chapter in our lives. Nancy and Darryl spent a generous amount of time talking with me. They went over all the important information a new dog owner should know, explained how AKC registration works, answered all of my many, many questions, and even introduced me to Liberty’s litter mates, and parents. I was given a care package addressed to “Queen Elizabeth,” Liberty’s original name, which was filled with treats, kibble to transition, pee pads for our flight, supplements for an upset stomach, and a toy that shared the scent of Liberty’s litter mates to make her transition smoother. Nancy and her family are not just “a family we got our dog from.” They are friends who keep in touch, and who made me feel like family when I flew out to pick up Liberty. In fact, I was traveling solo, and Nancy’s husband, Darryl, was even kind enough to drive Liberty and I to the airport for our flight after a heartwarming farewell at the house. Since bringing Liberty into our home, she has managed to fill our hearts with so much love and gratitude. My family is in the funeral business, and so Liberty has recently graduated kindergarten, and will be starting therapy school this Spring in efforts to become an official therapy dog to help families through tough times. Although she isn’t qualified as an official therapy dog yet, we still bring her to work with us everyday, as our funeral home is truly a family owned and operated business. Liberty greets all of our guests with a calm and gentle heart. We hear over and over again how incredible it feels to have a dog as sweet as ours greet you, and love you unconditionally when walking through our doors. Although she knows to maintain and calm and gentle atmosphere while as work, she absolutely loves exploring the outdoors and chasing critters. I truly cannot thank the Burke family enough for their love and compassion, and for changing our lives forever."
