Lagniappe   Goldens

Welcome to Lagniappe Goldens! 

After owning Goldens for over 50 years, Nancy and Darryl Burke decided to share that love with others. Thus, we established Lagniappe Goldens.  In the French language, lagniappe (pronounced lang yap) means "a little something extra."  We believe that, when you receive one of our puppies, you will also be receiving that "little something extra" of love and special attention we give to each of our Golden Retrievers.  Our dogs are so loved and cared for and, more than anything, we want the offspring of our English Cream Golden Retrievers to grow up in a loving new home.

Lagniappe Goldens is a labor of love, and we have cherished -- and continue to cherish -- every minute spending time with our Goldens. We are members in the American Kennel Club and the Golden Retriever Club of America, and believe in responsible breeding of Golden Retrievers.  

​

We also enjoy watching our Goldens grow up in their new homes, and we have become friends with our new owners.  We routinely still share photos, news about our dogs, and helpful Golden Retriever information between our families.

We are breeders of the American Kennel Club Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program.  H.E.A.R.T. stands for Health, Education, Accountability, Responsibility, and Tradition.  As Breeders, we uphold the following principles:  

​

  • HEALTH: We certify that our breeding stock is health tested in accordance with the recommendations of their breed’s AKC Breed Parent Club. 

  • EDUCATION: We promise we will pursue AKC-provided or approved continuing breeder education so that we stay educated on the best breeding practices, including advances in canine health.

  • ACCOUNTABILITY: We agree to comply with the AKC Care and Conditions Policy, including AKC inspections, and promise to share health testing and continuing education documentation with AKC.

  • RESPONSIBILITY: We accept responsibility for the health and well-being of the puppies we produce and for complying with all laws regarding the ownership and maintenance of dogs.

  • TRADITION: We uphold the AKC’s tradition of breeding purebred dogs that are happy and healthy.
